I was Christened, Confirmed and Married there, its a shame that it has gone into disrepair. I used to be friends with Sara Owen's brother Micheal, I wonder what they are doing now?

Hi Rachel
I went to St-John's in Dowlais from 1958, I have asked my Mother to find out what records are still in Dowlais.
Is there anything specific you would like?
Colin

I attended the all boys senior school from 1965 to 1969, I remember Mr Barnes (art), Mr Mathews (music), Mr Beynon (Headmaster), Mr Morgan (science), must try to remember the rest.

That is a great shame; I was told that GKN still looked after the Building, if that is not the case, then the upkeep must be expensive.
I remember going there with Colin Tasker who’s father was the works manager in my early teens, they would dare not serve him, good times.

My Father in law David Davies, used to work in the Dispatch Dept. My Mother in law spent hours sewing the buttons on the cards and also pairing up knitting needles.

Hi Tc
I should have looked at this thread first.
I have asked my father who can’t remember Williams Town but will find out for me.
Merthyr has changed but the High Street is still the same.
There are a few Hotels in Merthyr and Dowlais.
I hope you have a good visit
Colin
