My father worked as a Miner in 1937 and his pay was £0, 17, 11 per week, in today’s money that is 90 pence a week or $1.38.

Hi Ken, I lived in Market Street, My Grand Father was Tom Lewis the Post, he was in charge of the Post Office. After school went to Merthyr College and then a Hoover apprentice. Colin

I also remember seeing Max in the Folk Club, this was before EMI released “Live at Treorchy Rugby Club” which made him.

My brother Stuart Davies used to play drums in “The Villains” with Ken Arthur, Keith Sussex, Bobby Watkins and Phil Davies. He now lives in Brecon I wonder what the others are doing now?

My late father in law David Davies from Spring Street and his brother Arthur from Mount Pleasant Street used to be there 7 days a week! This was after voting against Sunday opening in the 1960s.

I also remember the Minors Club, used to have a Birthday every 2 months!
