Hello lindasue. I had a quick look in the library at the record books.There is record of a marriage beween a George WARD and a Ruth DAVIES in the records of ST TYDFIL'S church on the 25th April 1819 by Banns. page 198 . No 594. Consent of marriage is given by JAMES PRICE ? . NO address given just of this parish. Wittnesses present JAMES PRICE and ANN CARDING the names are not easy to read. This might be your ancestor

Hello sturgis There is a funeral report in the paper on page 5 November 29th edition 1941 . It mentions military service in Boar war and WW1 in ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS winning MILITARY MEDAL in 1915 . There is also a brief acknowledgement on page 2 of the same newspaper edition .If you contact the merthyr library they could send you a copy of the report.

hello chrismor .There are photo's of Ynysgau chapel on this web site .It was at the bottom of Castle street , it was knocked down in late 1960's,look under either Castle street or under Churches and chapels page. mike

hello lindasue I have been told that there were three graveyards used by St Tydfil church to bury people in. One in the church grounds, one half way up twyn hill,and one in the grounds of the Workhouse infirmary. I was told the records do not say however which sites were used at the time of the burials.The Twyn hill site and the infirmary site have been covered over now .It might be helpful to you to know the address given of deceased relative was i believe at the top of Mountain hare around where the WHITE TIP was ( THE WHITEY ).
