I am looking for any information on Rees Morfryn Griffiths who died in 1941, living at 35 High Street, Penydarren.(born 1884 ish) He was a WW1 veteran, worked in the steel works and was a long serving member of St.John ambulance. He was brought up as a youngster at 15 Gyfarthfa Row, Merthyr. Married to Margaret Jane Griffiths in 1916 and had a son David Stuart Griffiths (who was a mechanic in 1950).
Any information thankfully recieved.
Richard

Do you have a date of death and I could check for a funeral report in the Merthyr Express? However, I must add that during the War years this local newspaper was very slim and with few pages it had few obituaries. Robert

I have tried in the past to search for funeral reports during the war and was told that the government past an act about restriction of information about people that the enemy could use thus no obituaries Richard

Hello sturgis There is a funeral report in the paper on page 5 November 29th edition 1941 . It mentions military service in Boar war and WW1 in ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS winning MILITARY MEDAL in 1915 . There is also a brief acknowledgement on page 2 of the same newspaper edition .If you contact the merthyr library they could send you a copy of the report.
