There are many Men who afraid of that dreaded word 'Pregnant' WM. Thanks for the post regarding 'The Ol Man From The Mountain' I sure do appreciate yor comments. Me and Sam Phillips (Facebook name of course) relished coming to watch y'all play at the Santa Fe Bar in Cardiff and many other venues to. I was with Kingsley not so long back, infact, I was with the whole bunch, John David, Eddie Williams and many more. Shame you were not there. I gotta be honest tho' I would never have got anywhere in this game without having the help of being My Ol Man's Boy. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. This has helped me through the years. But there was only so much Bullsh1t that I could do, I finally had to learn what I preached. I've posted some bits n Bobs on your FB page. Dont forget the coffee round your house soon, its your time and coffee, and your paying. lol Take care wise one.

Anyone know what happened to, I think it was a Hagstrom bass, that did the rounds in the 60s. Jeff Lewis played with Pete Lovis.. it was black with a mother of pearl neck.. a right posers bass... not you Jeff...on second thoughts..............................

Ray Willams bassman. lived behind us in Aberfan, on that subject my brother and myself went to the miners welfare in Aberfan, we were about 14ish..in the interval we asked the Dynatones if we could do a quick number.. the said tune was "Smokestack Lightnin"by Howling Wolf... these were the days of Del Shannon, anyway i was playing Ken Arthurs Stratand my brother Geralds. We opened up and the silence was deafening..after a few bars my brother took his guitar off and went Awol followed by the drummer so i was stood there like a nerd and finished the song, and left to the sound of my own footsteps, i always comforted myself they were not ready for the"Blues"should have done Apache...he he

ray williams kept his blue precision for a few years before one day in the flat in london he said he was pi##ed off with the colour but loved the guitar so we scraped the finish off and took it back to the wood and he played with it like that till he left man and i assume his wife jan has still got it

Hey all, lets cause a riot. I never did like the Les Paul, thought it was only good enough to row a boat. Unless you have the 54 Gold Top of course, just like the one that Carl Perkins used back at Sun. For me, it was always the Esquire, big fan of the Tele as well. Cant beat those for pure Rockabilly. The other two on my wall of fame are the Gretsch Chet Atkins, 54 Model 6120 and the Gibson ES 295. Nothing else matters. As far as acoustics are concerned, well, I have many. My pride is my Ol Mans D35 (Martin of course) Couple of Gibby J 200's one being 1954. Several other Martins including the D76E. Im a big fan of the Epiphone Texan, like the one Lennon used. Its exactly the same as the J45. Great acoustic guitars. So acoustic is my thing really, Cash, Hank Williams and Jimmie Rogers are the Daddies of all music genres. Hard core Rockabilly from Johnny Burnette with Hank Garland on guitar and not Paul Burlison. One day Ill get my band to play Merthyr, would be good to do it. Im the other side of Wales these days, St Davids. We got a great local guitar dealer to, the Only Martin (vintage) dealer around these parts. By the way, this is a great forum, we just need more activities on it.

Yes i agree, the only thing you get from a les paul is a bad shoulder and back ,So heavy they now drill pockets in the mahogany to try to lighten the things, I think they filled them with lead before that . Does anyone remember the bronze cast Fender strat with rhinestones embeded in it ,even that was lighter than some les paul's. He! He! He!

OH NO YOU DON'T Bassman!,you got me with the Sonic Blue, your not getting me mixsd up in the Les Paul hornets nest!!. May Les forgive all you unbelievers!,it takes a real man to tote around 11lbs of mahogany, maple & rosewood around your neck for hours on end!. thinks........I wonder if Gibson would build me one out of Balsa wood!. let's hope this site gets going again in the new year. best for the new year Y'all. Wolffy.
