Hello Peter, nice memories there! I must confess my memory is a little hazy on the get together in the Beehive, but sure do rmember those early gigs,& Dewie off on his astral projection thing,& he loved to talk about Crowley a lot.I emember a gig in Dowlais catholic club where Phil dived off stage & into a punch up!,to aid his mate who seemed to be on the losing end,I believe that was his last gig.things seemed to move along at a fair pace after that.was great to get Jeff in on bass,I stil reckon he's the only guy I know that could sing any part of a four part harmony & play bass at the same time!,he's got a great ear (I think it's the left one!) have'nt seen Phil since that night he did a Superman off the stage.well I guess my cover's blown!,take care,Wolfman

Hey Srat Man!,great to read a reply from you,yep John street seems a lifetime ago,it's been a few years since I've seen Eddie, last I heard he was living in Brecon,he was the most sympathetic drummer I've played with,he seemed to know what I was going to play before I played it!,another great drummer I played in a heavy band in the early seventies was Alan Snell,my God was he powerful,he would hurt my ears!have'nt seen him for years, readers of this page may remember him playing in the Palace on some saturday nights when he was in a band called The Next of Kin,he was a real treat to work with.come on lads, pile in with your memories, cheers,Wolfman

come on guys,I,m new to this page & look forwar to reading the comments, mus be someone out there wanting to chat about the great music & the music & bands we all loved.in respect of Lyndon Rees,I replsced him as lead player in 'The Phil Gay Combo', he was a pretty good jazz guitarist, and as that's where his heart really lay,he let the group & I was recruited, having just been sacked [along with Bobby Brown] from The Crescendos in whom I'd replaced Clive John.also want to point out that when we formed The Cheating Hearts [wich should read Harts by the way [EMI cocked it up when they pressed the single!] for the first six months or so Lyn Mitell played druns, was I glad to see Eddie join the band!,must do my rockers ramblings tales of the German night clubs, well those that are fit to print on this site anyway!,ah wonderful days, thats it for now, come on all you pickers out there lets have some feedback/questions.night all Wolf [Iwas there] Man

I would just like to point out it was not The Bystanders that were the support band for the Hermans Hermits show at the Castle cinema,it was in fact The Cheating Hearts,I know coz I lent Lec Leckenby my Fender amp.no matter what you might have read in the local rag,it was in fact myself & a well known Welsh comic that formed The Hearts.my favourite incarnation of the band was when we became a three piece as Christopher Bean with Jeff Lewis on bass,Robert Edwards [my favourite drummer] & myself on guitar,we played what we liked & we played it well, thanks to our grounding playing 8hrs a night in Germany.if any of my old chums from the Honey Cavern days read these ramblings get in touch.Bob Brown & myself had a jam tonight,he sends his regards to all.hey Ken in Oz!,hope the info on Gwyn Lewis was of use.stay tuned folks,Wolfman

I was surprised to learn that I am shy [something I was ever accused of!] & a recluse, well if its good enough for my all time hero Bernie Watson,Lord Sutch's lead guitarist its good enough for me!.as for my best mate & legendary bass player Bob Brown,he's stil playing as mean as ever,we meet at least once a week.as for myself?,I stil spank the plank as hard as ever, only now its in my home studio.if my old mate Link Conway ever reads this, thanks for pointing me in the right direction all those years ago & making me want to play like you, something I never achieved!,you know who this is.....& you stil owe me a Marshall Superfuzz!.good luck,Wolfman
