Hi Mikea. I'm a bit confused,'Christopher Bean' was my band, along withe Edddie & Jethro, we had just changed our name from 'The Cheatin' Harts' & one of the first gigs we dd under that name was the 'Man' support at the Sands, (I'm Alan Crompton by the way),I don't remember another band being there that night. Hope you are well?, Cheers, Alan.

Yes indeed Ken!,when Jimmy Crawford played in Merthyr, his lead guitarist came down to my house,it seems he'd lost his spare strings,& being a bank holiday there was nowhere open to buy any,so I gave him a load of spares that I always carried in my case,he offered to take me back to the club with him ( The Martyrs I think ) to see the show, but I was playing myself that night,so sadly had to turn the offer down, they were a great band though having seen them previously.

Sorry 'Micky' I misread that bit about the E.P,if Clive gave me a copy of it,he must have had more than just the one, highly unlikely he would have parted wth it otherwise,it's an acetate, even though it's still in the same condition as when he gave it to me,there's a huge amount of surface noise, well, acetates weren't meant to be played over & over,I still have ours from EMI,& they are almost as noisy to play.

Sorry Micky, you don't have the only copy of that E.P,Clive gave me a copy of it, which I still have, some of the things you mentioned have a connection with myself,we also worked with 'Unit 4 Plus 2',also with 'Sounds Inc' on their return from the Beatles Shea Stadium gig.
As far as I recall, the first track on that E.P was 'Blue Guitar',we must surely know each other,& you must know 'Strat'.
Cheers, Wolfman.

Hi Micky. Good to hear from you,if you select the last page you'll get the latest postings, page 12 at the moment, keep all the comments coming, this forum has been dormant far too long.
When Clive left The Crescendos it was me that replaced him, he would take tke great delight up to the end that when we bumped into each other he would greet me with 'Hello Replacement!''.
Take care, Wolfman.
