I lived in Merthyr Tydfil with my Nana (Hanover Street) until I was 8 and then left to live with my parents - I was studying in Bournemouth when I was 17/18 and by complete fluke, met a boy that summer who also came from Merthyr - He had driven down on a motorbike and I think?? his name was Malcolm, from Dowlais if my memory serves me well (questionable at times!!!) and he was talking about possibly going into stained glass work for churches etc -I only met him for that one day but I have never forgotten him and also wonder where he is and how he is - My Nana knew his Nan and about 12 years ago or so, he has asked after me but she had lost a number to give to me and it's always haunted me and funnily enough he's been on my mind very much these last few months and then I found this site by total chance, so if you could ask around, i'd appreciate it. He was such a kind person and had darkish curly hair - I'm 43 now so all my very young friends, wonder where you are too - i went to primary school near hanover Street and then the Park until I was 7 - Ffrancon, sometimes called Frankie - be great to hear from anyone!

hi anyone reading this - no replies, what a shame re the person I'm trying to get back in touch with - He came from Dowlais so probably went to school there and would have been roughly 1982-1985/6 in 6th form - liked motorbikes - was into his stained glass/art - talked about working in cathedrals/churches doing them up - if anyone can help, i would be very grateful - failing that, I'll contact the local newspapers and schools - also looking for Rycian Thomas as I grew up with Rycian (Eddie Thomas's daughter) and would love to know how she is - lost touch as well. My Nana was May Coles of 18 Hanover Street. looking forward to visiting Merthyr again very soon. I had the happiest memories there. People in the UK say 'ooh, it's a bit lost in time, not very pretty, can be rough' but all I remember were smiles and good times and Winberry Pie!!
