If anyone wishes to have pictures of modern day merthyr or would like to advise me on places which would be good to take pictures of then please reply.
Up to now i've taken pictures of Cafarthfa Castle, park and forest. Also yesterday i took pictures of the Cafarthfa iron works.
I'm planning on going to Morlais today but depends on the situation.
Again If anyone has any good ideas where to take pictures to place on the website then it be greatly appricated

do you mean ffos-y-fran? if so, i was born there and i have tried. there are some old photos in the library showing the "slip road" being laid in the early sixties and ffos-y-fran is in the distance. If there are some photos around i would be eternally grateful
pentip p.s. (pentip was family nickname, as the house was built on top of the tip)

Hi Martyn, I dont know if this is possible, but would you be able to take a photo of Edwards Terrace in Quakers Yard. I have posted a couple of requests for old or new photoes of this street, but no luck so far. My nan was born at number 13 in 1915. I am researching my family tree and havent really got any whare because my nan was born out of wedlock and given away by her mother at around 18 months of age, and we applied for her birth certificate after she died only to find she was born at 13 Edwards Terrace Quakers Yard. I hope you can help, Thank you in advance, Andrea Clark

If you go to Google Earth and put in the postcode, then click satellite, you may see the aerail view of the exact house. I've found a few of my families homes this way.Worth a try.

Hi Martyn. Apologies for making a request on my first day on the site. I was wondering if you, or anyone reading this, has any old pics of Dowlais, i.e. Horse Street, Wind Street, South Street etc. I can only see one of my old street (Horse Street) on the site. How on earth did buses manage to get down there, it looks so narrow to what I remember it. Thanks for a great site.
