Jeremiah Harrington born in 1832 in Cork Ireland, married Ellen Golden also born in Ireland. The marriage was in 1853 at the Roman Catholic Church Dowlais. They lived at 3, back of Lloyd Street Merthyr. Jeremiah was a weigher in the ironworks. They had, as far as I can trace at this time, eight children. one of the sons was Daniel (bn 1865), in 1890 he married Johannah Murphy who was born in Kerry Ireland. They lived in Merthyr until the late 1890/early 1900 when the family moved to Beaufort, Ebbw Vale. Daniel and Johannah had a son Jeremiah (my grandfather). Some of the family are buried in Pant cemetery, can anyone assist with any further info please

See entry for Murphy/Mahoney on this message board. I have obtained a baptism cert for the eldest son of Crohane and Catherine Murphy, his godparents were James and Ellen Murphy (nxt door neighbours on the census). I think that Crohane and James may have been brothers and thravelled to Wales at about the same time.

I have a Margaret Harrington who married Timothy Hennessy in Merthyr. He was born in Cork but came to Merthyr about 1870. They had a couple of children but she died about 1890. Is this any relation of your Harringtons?
