I wonder if anyone else out there is chasing my Jenkins family. The earliest information I have on my great x 3 grandfather is Richard Jenkins c 1776 possibly born in or near Merthyr He married Ann Moss 1782 Leeds in 1800 at Bedwelty. He was an inn keeper by 1820 but previously I believe he was a collier probably iron ore - from the 1819 baptisms of his son John. He ended up owning several houses and shops in Tredegar along with the leases of several inns. He also had shares in the GWR. All this from his will dated 1843. He is buried in Bedwelty churchyard. thank you Diana

Dear list - I have now found a Philip Jenkins who married Nesta (Nehusta) in Merthyr in 1815, on the 1841 census of Bedwelty he is a proprietor of houses which could make him a relative of my Richard Jenkins 1776. Anyone have any knowledge of this Philip Jenkins. On the family search it says Coedgae, Merthyr
thanks Diana
