Wm Rees born abt 1781 in Vaynor. On 1851 Census he is a widower age 70 living with his family at the Royal Arch pub. One son William Rees age 30, two daughters Mary and Sarah age 27 and 20 respectively (born Merthyr). One other daughter Ann (born 1826, Merthyr) not included on the Census but I believe she married a Rees Rees. On 1861 Census they are living at Pontystorehouse?with three sons: William Rees (12), Rees Rees (10), Jason Rees(2). On 1901 Census Jason is living with wife Elizabeth and family at No 31 Nantygwenith St. Can anyone help to fill in some gaps I am trying to find out who William Rees senior married. He died on 10 August 1861 and the probate doc. says he died in Merthyr but there is no death certificate registered in Merthyr and the probate doc does not include the address at the time he died but I am almost certain that it would have been at 42 Bethesda Street. After his death his son William Rees took over the running of the Royal Arch and then not long after he married Sarah Scott and took over the running of the Dyffryn Arms - eventually moving to the Narrow Gauge in Glebeland St.
Does anyone know (1) who Wm Rees Senior married and (2)what happened to Sara?
I would appreciate your help.
