I am looking for help or information with my Merthyr family. I live in Calgary, Canada so research is a bit on the tough side. William Henry JACKSON, born 1877 possibly in Ireland appears to have arrived in Merthyr around the late 1890's. in 1898 he married a local girl called Sarah MITCHELL, born 1879 in Merthyr. They were married at the Merthyr registry office. At that time he was living in Quarry row Merthyr. In the 1901 census he has moved to what looks like 3 Crosesunnybank, Merthyr. He has two children, William Hanny Jackson aged 2 yrs and John aged 7 mths. His occupation is listed as locomotive engine driver. There appear to be quite a few Irish workers around so that may prove one idea. I would like to find where he died and was buried which I believe to be in Merthyr. He was Catholic I believe if that helps. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
