Hi All, My great Grandfather Edward Richards was the Head Deacon at Saron Chapel, in Troedyrhiw my father tells me, not sure of the year, I am thinking around 1890. I can't find any information on this Chapel. Or the Deacons, can anyone help me here. Thanks Marg

4 I believe that many of the original records of Saron Chapel were transferred to the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth ( probably in the early 1980s ), but that Merthyr Libraries made some photo copies before they were sent away. These records are al in the Welsh Language. I will try to check them for you tomorrow and reply again. Carolyn Jacob

I can find details and a history of the Chapel itself. Although, unfortunately, I am unable to read some material which is in Welsh, there is information on the ministers, but not on the Deacons. Would you like photocopies sent to you? Address?
