Hi,
I am researching John Jenkins, 1812-1893. He moved to Merthyr (Dowlais Area) in the 1830's from Cardiganshire. John was a tailor by trade, and the 1851 census shows him employing 6 men in Queen Street. He had several children but the key one I am interested in is Abigail, 1857 - 1899. She married a William Richards. I would welcome any information relating to John and Abigail especially anything regarding his business.

Hello Karl There was a marriage between one Abigail Jenkins and a William Richards on 30th of January 1876 at Ynysgau Chapel in Merthyr Tydfil this could be the marriage. I had a look in local newspaper to see if there was a death report for her in 1899 but could not see one, will have a look to see if there was one for her father. There was a birth of a Abigail Jenkins in the Upper district of Merthyr Tydfil in late 1857 to early 1858 her mothers maiden name of surname of Williams.Hope this is helpful.
