Hello - anyone with any knowledge of my great-grandmother's family in Aberfan gratefully received...my father David was evacuated to live with his mum's family in about 1941/2 from Eastbourne Sussex. He was evacuated with his sisters Jill and Pat and they all went to Pantglas School, Moy Road. I have only scant details of names: my grandmother was called Ceinwen Lewis and married to (name unknown - obviously Mr Lewis!) and he worked up at Navigation Pit, Merthyr T. My father and his sisters stayed there until about 1954 and they loved the people of Aberfan, the school and everything there - my father "got rid of" his 'London' accent and acquired a fabulous "masculine" deep South Wales accent - of which he is still very proud! My father had a very dear childhood friend in Aberfan - Warwick Rolands, who had a mum and a disabled father - they lived under the Gas Show Room in Aberfan...
Any info welcomed - anything - thanks
