Hello,
My great x 3 grandfather was Morgan Hudson, born Merthyr around 1797. Morgan left Merthyr and settled in London. Morgan's father, Edward was born around 1766. He possibly moved from Knighton into Merthyr and married Ann Jones from Michaelstone Super Avon in 1790.
I believe that Morgan's sister, Sarah was the mother of John Hughes, of Donetsk fame.
I suspect the family worked in the Cyfarthfa iron works, as they lived very near to it on Tram Side.
Any more info about the family would be very gratefully received.
