My Nan (Vaughan) was from Williams Town which was a row of houses owned by Crawshaw. Is Williams Town still there?
I used to sit at the window and watch all the workers leave the factory and walk up the road and get fresh milk from The Pandy Farm. I tell you what though, a lot of those houses were haunted! The stories my nan told!
I plan to go back there this summer. Has Merthyr changed a lot? Are there any nice hotels in the area?
Many thanks.
Love the website!

Hi Tc
I should have looked at this thread first.
I have asked my father who can’t remember Williams Town but will find out for me.
Merthyr has changed but the High Street is still the same.
There are a few Hotels in Merthyr and Dowlais.
I hope you have a good visit
Colin

Next time I go down to Merthyr I will take some photos but have a look at "Caepantywyll Page 2" Thanks for pointing that out Colin. In the second shot the houses look wrecked. Was the street pulled down? Does it remain? Im hopefully visiting there in July! Tc
