I hadn,t been in Merthyr for a while, and on a quick visit yesterday saw a few changes. Traffic, there didn,t seem to be much, then i realised that changes had been made, new river bridge, one way system etc. It all seems to be positive...any feedback to contradict my first impressions? The town hall...very impressed, and also about the old bingo hall site being turned into a smart open area(no doubt at great expense!) Three Horseshoes now a pseudo Irish pub, do they have Welsh pubs in Ireland? I,m from Swansea, and you,ve probably heard about two pedestrians being killed on the Kingsway. How many towns in Great Britain would turn a dual carriageway into a confusing multi directional four lane road?...this was done years ago to make the traffic flow for the buses better...They,ve put temporary barriers up along the whole length of the Kingsway, and parts of Westway....all hired at great expense..anyway Merthyr seems to be getting some things right

Glad you like many of the changes and I will pass on your comment re Three Horse Shoes to the Merthyr Tydfil Heritage Trust, who want the name changed back again as it was an important haunt for the Chartists.
