I wonder if anyone can throw light on this for me or put me in touch with living family member(s).
I have a small bible that has a list of names inscribed in its covers. The bible belonged to Eleanor Davies who marked the inner cover on 8th November 1896 as being her bible. She married a David Lewis in 1897 in Brecknock. They were from Duffryn Crawnon, near Llangynidr. They had eight children in all, but one died in 1907 aged one year. At this time the family were still living in Duffryn Crawnon. They then moved to Pontsarn by 1911 and later to Gwladys St, Pant where David Lewis died in 1941. The full names of all the children and their exact dates of birth are present, but their names are: Thomas, David, John, Annie, Mary, Ivor and Gwladys Lewis (excluding the child who died as a baby). By comparing the handwriting in this bible to the handwriting on the 1911 Census, I am quite certain that it was Eleanor (Davies) Lewis who wrote the names of her family members IN the 1911 document.
I am not really looking for family history research on this family, I have done as much as I need!! I am looking for descendants of these people who would genuinely like to have the personal bible of Eleanor Davies to pass through their family. You could argue that this is a potentially priceless family artefact and I'd so like to return it to the possession of the right people. Can anyone help trace living relatives, please.
