This is also listed under factories:
Update on Thomastown Brickworks. In 1898 a Limited company was formed to purchase the business from Thomas Price Jenkins. T P Jenkins was the eldest son of the late John Jenkins. The new company was named the Merthyr Brick & Tile Co Ltd. It went into voluntary liquidation in 1910. Kellys 1914 lists John Jenkins (junior) as running the Merthyr Brickworks, Thomas Town. I now need to find and have your help regarding when brick making on the site finally ceased. I'm also intrigued as to why Thomas P Jenkins sold up. Was it to finance himself, as a member of the Yeomanry, to go to Boer War as part of Lord Roberts bodyguard?

I have just sent a brief document to Carolyn Jacobs at Merthyr Central Library of info I have found so far on the brickworks at Thomas Town owned by John Jenkins.
