I read a piece online about the Jews of Merthyr by Wendy Bellany which mentioned that a Dr Cairns of Cardiff had taken photographs of the interior of the synagogue before it was dismantled. These were deposited in Merthyr Library.

PS to the above: I noticed that on the Synagogue page, the photographer was listed as unknown! Of course, these might be another set of photos entirely. Probably, Ms Jacobs would know.

Yes there is a collection of photographs of the interior held in Merthyr Library
