This may be of passing interest to those interested in Merthyr & its people. What were referred to in the family as the family scrolls have been donated to the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. These are two rolls of canvass with about 60 large watercolours (29ins x 19ins) on them. 2 female relations Price or Pryce one married a Southey had undertaken a world trip in around 1880. The story is that 2 Price/Pryce (spelt both ways in our records) sisters went on this trip together. Whether accompanied by a male or not we don't know. These paintings are supposed to be a record of that trip. The very first painting is of St Tydfil's Church & appears on the Alan & Geoff site. John Jenkins (owner of Thomstown Brickworks & first person elected to represent Merthyr on the first Glamorgan County Council) mother was a Price.
