We decided to visit the Chip shop, in our nearby Dowlais Town, So off we went from Cwmcannol Street, down to our playing ground Up on to the steps of the Odd fellows Hall,we would sit alongside a mate Waiting again for throw out time, though it often meant staying out late To watch them all stagger into the shop, from the pubs that’s all about To hear the singing from the men,and the Drunken women shout You watch where you are looking gal, keep your eyes off my old man She replied, what do he see in you, with a face like a Butchers Van And so the Quarrelling on the Saturday nights went on in Dowlais Town Until a shout brought the peace again, The Bobbies on his round.
