Hello my husband and I have just joined this site in the hope that we can find out any information at all on my husbands relatives which are the Lockyer/Thomas Family. We think that some of the Lockyer family resided in Bethesda Street and Quarry Row but we are not totally sure. My husbands name is David and his Grandfather was William James Lockyer and he married a Hannah Thomas in 1932. We also think the surname Kennet is associated with the Lockyer family.
We would be more than grateful if there is anyone who can give us any information at all on our relatives.
Thank You Dee and Dave

ginlynne You can look at the electoral registers in the Central LIBRARY IN MERTHYR TYDFIL in book form or on reels of film. There should be copies also in GLAMORGAN RECORDS OFFICE in CARDIFF , THE BRITISH LIBRARY IN LONDON and THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF WALES IN ABERYSTWYTH. They are not on the web and there is not a set for all years some have been lost . Pre 1918 only men over 21 are listed who owned some property from 1918 on Women over the age of 30 are also listed .
