Well, this is exciting! I've always looked at Old Merthyr Tydfil of Alan George's web site, then realised I could register and actually type in a topic! I'm an exile, been away over 25 years, live in England, and isn't it sweet this week after the rugby last weekend! Really enjoyed reading some of the topics on the site, so hopefully I will be able to partake

Hi David , I too have been a member for a short time only. I moved to kent 47yrs ago and I am finding this site wonderful for trips down memory lane. I've seen the house where we lived. and found myself in 2 school photos. I have als been able to supply photos of Merthyr F.C. dating back to 1909 when my grandfather played for them.I get on the site whenever I get a spare minute. I hope you have as much luck finding items relevant to you as I have.Good luck in your searches. Bet

Hi David. I'm the same as you m8, I often have a look around this site at all the old pics, but didn't know there was a forum on here. Takes yer back don't it. I've just emailed one old m8 from Dowlais that I found on here. Hope to find a few more. TonyC

Hi TonyC Yes, does take you back a bit, I've been away nearly 30 years, but get back on occasions, but when you see some of the pics on the site you are transported right back to being 6 or 10 or 18 depending on the pics. Seen one or two pics of myself in school photos Like you wasn't aware of this forum, so will be using it greatly from now

I found the forum yesterday; I've been running a little bar in Brittany for 28 years so my customers have trouble understanding that when I say 'my place' (chez moi) I mean Merthyr. Also I once said to my daughter "I feel like going home", she thought I meant the house but her mother put her right.
