I know it wasn't a pub, but just been looking at the new photos on Old Merthyr Site and the Drill Hall was there. Anyone remember having to try and get tickets for the monthly rugby club dance held there? It was almost black market time in trying to get a ticket for those dances. Live bands, great music and absolutely packed out.

Was this where the Corona Pop place was near the roundabout? I think Baker's Garage was on the other side of the river?

It was Gayday by the Drill Hall, Corona was at the top of Nantygwenith Street, opposite the `New` Bus Depot.

I know there was a pop yard nearby but not sure of which one. They used to have some great music in there. Always remember that it was Maggie May which was played a lot of the time. But also some great live bands.

I used to live in the Drill Hall House in the 70s early 80s. The pop place was next door and it was Gayday. Corona was further up but sadly gone as well now.
