Mount Pleasant Inn / The Black.

Whilst doing some family research, the Mount Pleasant Inn , has emerged as a connection .
Are there any family members , or local people who may be able to give me any information on BENJAMIN WILLIAMS.
( He boxed in the early 1900's as Bennie Springfield )
Seems that Ben was born in the USA , in 1892 , after his family emigrated .
Does anyone know WHERE in the States he was born, or the family was living whilst there.?
Does anyone know the date the family left for the States, or came back.
When leaving they lived at John Street in Treharris.
Settled in Merthyr Vale on their return from America.
Names of ships used for passage ?
Benjamin was one of a large family. His parents were Enoch and Mary.
They also had relations living in Tongwynlais.
ANY info on Ben , however small , will help with this jig-saw. I am a very close friend of one of his daughters, and am trying to compile details of his early life for her.
I live in Penmain , near Oakdale .
