Does anyone remember the Macintosh Hotel in Aberfan when the Crow family ran it along with their unpredictable alsation dog that my elder brother, Derek, used to exercise? I used to live opposite :West End House,Angus St; Aberfan(long demolished). We were the Adams family. Mervyn and Elsie(deceased) Derek, Jeffery, and Joy.Next door used to be a chip shop(run by a single ,Italian parent-Mrs. Manzie and her two children-Angela and Peter.I think they left in the early 60's for Reading. Ring a bell anyone?) What happened to the Crow's? When a child I always remember my late mother advising (re. the Mac Hotel): 'never drink, you'll die young.' Sadly Xmas Eve ,1986 she got run over and died, aged 68 years. Lovely woman. P.S. I do drink! Seize the day!!
