Hi, I am from New Zealand, and am trying to find where my Grandparents and family are buried They were Daniel Stephen Jones & his Wife Elizabeth ( nee Williams ), they were born in the 1880's and lived and where Daniel was born, in Penrhiwcieber, I have never been able to find where Elizabeth was born, but remember my Mother saying she never learned to speak English until she was about 8yrs old. and also the name of the coal mine where Daniel worked, I remember visiting Wales as a young child, their was a railway line right across from their house, but am not sure whether that was for the coal miners or a normal railway, that was in the early 1950's. Any information would be very much appreciated Jenny

have you got any dates, as to when she was born or when she died? Elizabeth "Lizzie" Williams is/was a very common name

Unfortunately you really do needsome idea of where and when they died because Jones is such a very very common name. You have to approach the Cemeteries Department of each individual Authority. However, if they were living in Penrhiwcieber they were in the Rhonnda Valley and this district have their cemetery records well organised ( and registers of electors ) Try Cemetery Offices Brithweunydd Road Trealaw CF40 2UQ
Tel No: 01443 682829
OR you could contact the R.C.T. Libraries

I have to correct the reply saying that 'Penrhiwceiber' is in the Rhondda Valley and to look there for burials for Danile and Elizabeth Jones. - It is in the Cynon Valley! (aberdare) There was 'Penrhiwceiber Pit' and also 'Abercynon Pit' Good Luck
