I am looking for information on William Morgan Mathias, born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1904 left and died 30 Jan 1950 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. However, he was buried at Cefn Cemetery on 24 May 1950. Anyone aware of an Obit or know family details. All help appreciated. David Lewis Atherton, CA, USA

I remember Mrs Anne Mathias (“Auntie Anne”) at 8 Lancaster Terrace. She was a retired school teacher when we new them circa 1950. A lovely old lady who used to come round for a chat and cup of tea every week. I cannot remember her daughter’s name (Betty?) but her grand-son Richard lived with them. He was about 7 at the time. It was Auntie Anne that convinced my brother Malcolm to become a schoolteacher and steered him in a life changing career move.

Annie Mathias (born Annie Bowen) married John Mathias and they had 1 son, William Morgan Mathias, who died at age 45 of a ruptured appendix in 1950. William was married to Evelyn Betty Tantram and they had two sons: Peter William M. Mathias (born 1934) and Richard M. Mathias (born 1940). Do you know when Annie's husband, John Mathias died or where he's buried. Do you know what happened to her grandsons?
