At this moment in time I happen to find myself absurdly (Lord knows what I did) on an island even smaller than ours!
Now I can well imagine that many are out there saying "server's ya right" and "so".. and of course you are all correct... except for him over there ..!
I find life difficult as representative of Merthyr.. lets face it we don't have much to crow about except steam engines invented by Cornishmen and boxers..a heritage of which we should be justly proud...
I know about Morlais, Crawshays, Dic Penderyn, Laura Ashley and now, after 100yr's a revival in Welsh whisky..anything else?
Maybe I am just getting old!
Hell of a Town!
Except for the webcam from the 'new' council buildings.. which is shyte
Put it on the high Street so us Merthyr Ex-pats can see some realty....!!
Merthyr for Capital!!

Hello everyone!! For my sins I find myself on the North Island of New Zealand. Now if you thought us Welsh to be parochial think again! They could easily gain another gold if it ever became an olympic event! How are things in dear old blighty?... I have been gone quite a while now... getting on for twenty years.. do they still serve a good pint of S.A in the Cyfartha?... ahh what I would give for a decent drop of beer...take my advice compatriots.. stay at home!!

Who told you that? I have seen more rain on a Sunday afternoon here than a winter walking the Beacons! It's all piffle!... The rain doesn't even have the decency to come in small amounts spread over days...no.. It comes, rather, as an horrendous downpour that blinds you whilst driving, turns meadows to mud in moments and could wash the paint off a primary school teachers car!. t happens with a persitancy that lets you wonder about a divine hand and the fact that it is missing from this land... unlike ours of course....and thats just the summer! Hi Gwalion But you have the sun
