Who remembers Freemans Fun Fair when it was in Troedyrhiw on the site which is now Afon Taf. It was only a small fair but it was utter magic going there as a child. I also went to Freemans when it to moved to Aberfan.

I recall the fair at Troedyrhiw. We young boys used to frequent it every time it turned up! Used to flirt with the girls there. Remember the dodgem cars-great times looking back. We came from Aberfan. I used to have a girl-friend who lived near the fairground. She was called Meryl---? All I remember was that she was quite attractive and had a husky voice...at least I hope she was female...Purely platonic... Another girl friend used to live in Angus street, Troedyrhiw. How quickly the years pass. Lovely days. Out of interest what's there now? Not houses I hope?

Editor-re. my piece on Freeman's Fair at Troedyrhiw-can you shift me? I was replying in response to someone else who asked for memories of it! Forget where it is! Thanks.

It traveled to various places including Treharris, there was a guy called Phillip Freeman, who lived with the fair, he was in my class at Afon Taf.

I used to work in the Council with a Donald Freeman, who was a descendant of the Freeman's Fun Fair, and used to run and operate the tea cup ride at the firework display etc.
