Just heard the news of Philip Madocs death aged 77.A great actor and another of Merthyr's sons passes.R.I.P.

He was justly famous for many roles on stage and sceen as well as for being a talented linguist. I remember him especially as Magua in a television version of 'Last of the Mohicans' and in the 1981 television series 'The Life and Times of David Lloyd George'. Makes me proud of my link to Merthyr Tydfil.

Phillip Madoc was indeed one of Merthyrs most famous sons, quite a few fine actors come from Merthyr including Alan David and Stephen Spiers.

Feel very sad to hear of Philip Madoc's passing. Such a great actor, wonderful stage presence, I only heard him on the radio the other day playing Brother Cadfael. Such a loss to the acting world, and Merthyr in particular.
