The section dealing with unidentified photographs is surely a reminder to us all to fill in the backs of our photographs (especially school-photos) providing essential basic details? It would make life easier. After all, one day our present photographs of Merthyr and surrounds could be really important to future historians and a source of enjoyment to others? A photograph, like the one of working factory(?) girls, -such a happy picture-is somewhat diminished if its identity is never solved? It could have been taken anywhere in the world but we somehow sense it is local: without proof, however,it is just another photograph, albeit a joyful one.
