The Pentrebach House was built for Anthony Hill owner of the Plymouth Ironworks.
It later became a home for the elderly, then 'Brewsters' / 'Brewers Fayre', with the addition of a Premier Travel Inn being built adjacent to it.
Now, it seems to be undergoing a further refurbishment, anyone know what's happening at 'The Big House'?

Went to Pentrebach House last night for an anniversary meal. Really enjoyed! Great food, reasonable prices, excellently decorated. Can't wait to go again.

One of my grans ended her days there peacefully years ago. I've stayed there quite a few times when I've travelled across the border to back home. The facilities at the Premier Inn are first class and the Pentrebach House itself offers great breakfasts for the family. We stayed there not long ago when we came home for a wedding reception held at Pentrebach Cricket Club nearly opposite. I'm back there again on the 25th of this month as I'll be going to my brothers wedding at Merthyr
