Hi Marian Shattock I live in No 9 for 10 years and my father was the Chief Draughtsman from the opening of TAC in 1947 to 1964 when he had a serious car accident on the Brecon Beacons. Do you remember Ken Bryant? There was also a tracer called Valerie who lived at No10, did you know her. She looked after me sometimes when I was about 8 years old. Nice to hear from you. I spent some time of my apprenticeship in the DO, a much sought after position, as an apprentice. Remember Ken Byrant by name and a guy Mr Fraser, think he was a Pole or Czech, in charge of the apprentices there. I worked with Doug Thomas, a draughtsman.

Does anyone remember a Jack Bowen or a Billy Edwards who worked at Teddingtons in the fifties. My auny still lives in the house that was built to accomodate Teddington workers.

Following my 5 year apprenticeship I ended up in the drawing office where Ken Bryant was the chief Draughtsman and Herbert Frazer was his assistant. I remember his car accident quite vividly where others from Teddingtons also perished. in fact it was Ken Bryant who interviewed me went I first went the factory. He introduced me to Freddy Toe who was the Plant Manager and also apprentice superintendent.Fellow workers in the drawing office were Bryn Ginger Williams,John Evans, Roy Phillips,Pete Wagstaff,Len and Mal Hopkins,Ray Jones John James,Bill Price and many others, I ended up in the Design Office whereI was responsible for the design of CONCORDes throttle controls and remember well going to bristol with Ernie Jones the Tech sales rep and getting into the pilots seat to see where the throttle controls fitted - what a proud moment that was, VERY HAPPY DAYS
