Hello Paul If you go on Gogglemaps and put in Merthyr Tydfil on satellite image to the east of Merthyr is the A4060 trunk road to the right of that you will see a small road called the Bogey Road this is the area called CWMBLACKS there are some buildings south of the road and a stretch of trees if you zoom in on them the name Nant Cwmblacks will appear. The area around is now being dug as an opencast mine(Ffros y Fran). The old mine was somewhere around this area and was part of the Plymouth Iron Works land to begin with and then I think the Dowlais Iron Works had the mineral rights after Plymouth closed.
