Can anyone help?? my great great grandfather Rev Jabez Edmund Jenkins 1840 to 1903 was the Rector at Vaynor Church. Apparently there is a plaque in the church with his name etc. can anyone confirm this. Also he wrote many books and poems and one such book was "vaynor, its history and guide". It would be great to see a copy of a book from my great great grandfather and wonder if anyone has a copy???

Hello Neil Its great to hear from a descendant of Jabez Edmund Jenkins, I have always wondered what happened to his the family line. J.E.Jenkins and his wife Ruth are buried in Vaynor Church yard and there is indeed a plaque inside the Church to their memory. The plaque reads COF UWCH ANGHOF IN LOVING MEMORY OF RUTH, (ELLEN PRYDAIN.) WIFE OF THE REVD. J.E.JENKINS. (CREIDIOL) RECTOR OF THIS PARISH WHO DIED FEBRUARY 9TH.1889, AGED 47 YEARS. ALSO IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED REV. J.E.JENKINS, WHO WAS RECTOR OF THIS PARISH FOR 20 YEARS: BORN DEC. 24TH. 1839, DIED JUNE 4TH. 1903. I have lots more information for you. I am not a relation but have been researching the history of Vaynor for over 25 years! I started out by copying J.E.Jenkins book out by hand at the library every day after school only to find on completion that I could have photocopied it! The book is quite rare but I have a copy, if you contact me at althom71@googlemail.com I can arrange to get a copy to you. Best Wishes althom
