My father's family all came from Dowlais but sadly he died quite young in 1967. He was David Baden Howells. He left South Wales finally during the 30s and I only visited once in about 1952 when I was 9 or 10.
I recall vividly meeting my grandmother at her home at 1 Horse Street and spending time with my cousin Griff James, who kept me amused by expertly drawing pictures of Spitfires. I think he was the son of my aunt Amelia (Millie), my father's sister.
My mother, a Londoner died aged 94 in 2005.
I would like to meet up or at least contact my cousin or his kin. I'm told he married a lady who had a successful hairdressing salon in Dowlais.
I have been successful in making contact with another cousin, the son of one of my father's brothers, who now lives in Narberth but who knew nothing of the other members of his father's family.
It happens I am visiting the area (I live in Manchester) next weekend so would appreciate any information.
I should add by way of reassurance that I have nothing to give other than information and seek nothing other than information in return. Thanks in advance.
