This may be a long shot but I have located two distant relatives that died in France around 1918 and are buried there. If you google Pont-Du-Hem. military Cemetery, La Gorgue and review the topics for a search connection you may have luck. If you know where he is from and information about his regiment it makes it easier. I searched the name Harry Parker and came up with about 120 names. Good Luck, I hope it works.

Have you looked at Commonwealth War Graves site? I've looked for H Parker died 1918. There are 43 but none in a Welsh Regiment.

Were some people missed off the War Memorials? John Ernest Jenkins who ran the Thomastown Brickworks died of his wounds in France on 25th November 1917. I've not found a memorial with his name on in Merthyr. His name is on the family vault at Cefn. When he died, his wife & daughter were living at 29 Lancaster Villas. Any ideas???

Looking at old posts there were no names put on the Merthyr Tydfil Cenotaph as they said it would cost to much money there were over 1200 names that could have been listed not sure the cenotaph took so long to be bought and put up (1932 or 1934) that it is possible that a lot of men were left off the list as perhaps their relatives had moved away or had died themselves. A book was intended to be made with all the names put into that and kept at the town hall or library. This does not seem to have been made as the book that the council have was only compiled in the 1980,s.
