Hi I lived in Brickfield Terrace in the fifties and knew a Byron Jones living in Alma Street. anyone you know? Do you or any members know of anyone who went to Quakers Yard in the fifties I am trying to trace a Lina Rossi who's parents ran the cafe at the top of Merthyr town. I am also trying to locate a Nanette Morris as she was then before she married a policeman stationed at the Merthyr police station.

I grew up in Twyn. Born in 1943 went to Twyn School and then to Quakers Yard. Now live in South West Turkey! Good to have this site. Yes I remember Brickfield Crescent. I lived on th corner of Cross Thomas St and Alma Row. Left for University in 1962,my parents died some 20years ago but I still have cousins in Merthyr.

Hi John Evans. Are you related to Gwilym & Doris Evans that lived at 19 Alma Street in the 1970's?

I guess that makes us cousins, sort of.
Doris' mother (Elizabeth) was the sister of my great grandfather, Percy Jones. They moved to Lancing in the 1930's or 40's. I have a photo of you with Doris, Gwilym, Maureen (my aunt) & Francesca (my cousin) was taken at Swansea in early 1960's.
My grandmother was Charlotte who moved to Australia in the late 1950's.
I have been doing family research for some years and hadn't been able to trace what happened to Doris & Gwilym. Kind regards Janine
