I am researching either or both of the above familieis who were living in Dowlais during the latter half of the 19th century. The Sheas lived in Lloyd Street for part of that time. Matthew James Shea died in an industrial accident at the Dowlais Works on 6th July 1892, aged 16. I am keen to find out more about the families and young Matthew Jame's accident/death.
Thanks

Hello seandlynch There is an accident and inquest report in local paper THE MERTHYR AND DOWLAIS TIMES on page 8 July 15th 1892 . can't see a report in other paper THE merthyr express though but might have mist it. If you ask MERTHYR LIBRARY they could send you a print of it. Am guessing he might have been Catholic if he was they do have some records in the library of baptisms, marriages. deaths of Dowlais Catholics .
