Hello,
I have just noticed that there is another post from 'Kate / Kathryn' relating to Sand street I have pasted the contents below. I have no information as to who 'Kate' or 'Kathryn' may be, but she seems to have moved on from this forum.
Quote: hi not been on here before just wondering if anyone can help my great gandparents were william arthur evans and phyllis margaret evans nee lewis born 10/12/1904 and 6/11/1911 respectively.
william evans had four brothers and sisters blanche bridg jim and john
phyllis was also one of five gwen daisy vernon and ralph who my grandad believes lived at 5 sand street morgantown
his only other clue for me is that he believes his grandmother ran a sweet shop and her surname was jones
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks kathryn

Some information for those interested in number's 5 and 13 SAND STREET MORGANTOWN MERTHYR TYDFIL. The electoral rolls from 1920 to 1935 list two families LEWIS at no 5 and KEEFLE / PROFFIT at no 13. 1920 and 1925 at number 5 were CHARLES LEWIS & MARY ELIZABETH LEWIS. 1935 also lists GWEN LEWIS.
1920 at number 13 were STEPHEN KEEFE, HANNAH KEEFE, LEO JOHN KEEFE . LEO was in 1918 ABSENT VOTERS LIST as serving in Army in THE 3RD ROYAL DUBLIN FUSILIERS army number 31125. 1925 just lists STEPHEN KEEFE. 1935 lists STEPHEN KEEFE, JOSEPH PROFFIT,& KATE PROFFIT. hope this is helpful to someone.

Hi Mike,
Today I stumbled onto your reply (14 Jan 2014) to the Sand Street query. Stephen KEEFE was my great-great uncle!!!
Kate was his daughter and Leo his son. This is definitely helpful to me - I knew nothing about Leo's military career.
I just wanted to say thank you very much for the information. Cheers, Rob
