My great grandparent were the landlords during the 1901 census. Alfred C Botterill & his wife Emily. My understanding is that is was run as a Hotel then .Does anyone know when it closed.I have seen the photo of it on this website.

Ludovic Macintosh was the licensed victualler of The Wheatsheaf Hotel from 1880 when he married the daughter (Henrietta) of the previous licensee William Leyshon. William was the licensee from prior to 1871. Ludovic died in 1894 and I think that it would have then changed hands. Ludovic was reg great-grandfather of my friend and I have been putting together a family tree for her. Do you still have the cider Keg?
