Hello bevvynoo01. If you go to the map page on this site go to area of Georgetown, click on Page1 scroll down until you see a photo of a blue coloured house with a dog on the corner. The Royal Oak is the fourth house up with steps and railings outside, it was not a pub at that time I think it stopped being a pub in 1930's or 1940's but not sure! Hope this helps a little.
Mike

hello Bev Sorry! the houses were pulled down in about 1975. If you go on Google maps website and look for street in Georgetown area called LLWYN BERRY if you look on street view image this is on the same road that was GEORGE STREET. The road now called HEOL S.O. DAVIES is what was JOHN STREET and the corner house that was blue is where the corner of the road is now, the street layout is the same or as near as possible so the location of ROYAL OAK would be the fourth or fifth house up the hill. Regards Mike

Hi Bev Sorry if this is old hat or inaccurate but I think my Grandmother may have lived in the Royal Oak in the 60s before being re-housed. Her name was Elizabeth Jones I recall visited her in the back room of the pub with an enormous range. She was a fantastic person, but probably in no way related to your family? Best Paul
