The chapel has been demolished sadly. The first Zion Chapel was built by my great grandfather Rev.Henry Powell Jones who was also Pastor. I would be so grateful for any photographs of or relating to Zion

I am searching for information on Henry Powell Jones too. I am not 100% sure we have the same person as I haven't bought any of the certificates yet. I have seen you mention the obituary in 1929, I would love to see that because maybe that would confirm the information that I have. Would you be willing to share this information?

There are two reports of his death in the Merthyr Express newspaper HENRY POWELL JONES husband of ANNIE JONES lived 58 MOY STREET ABERFAN died 25/2/1929 vicar of ZION CHAPEL. The reports are on page 1 and page 16 of the 2/3/1929 edition of the newspaper.
